Board Bylaws

A bylaw is a law created by a local authority under the powers granted to it by provincial legislation. In Alberta, municipal bylaws are established under the Municipal Government Act.

Like other laws, bylaws can be enforced through the justice system, may include penalties for violations, and can be challenged in court. Bylaws must also comply with provincial and federal laws.
