About Us
Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools is a welcoming, faith-filled learning community dedicated to providing a high-quality Catholic education from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Serving families across Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Spirit River, our Division is home to 13 schools where students are inspired to learn, encouraged to create, and empowered to believe in their potential.
With nearly 700 dedicated staff, we create meaningful learning experiences for approximately 5,600 students. Rooted in Catholic faith and values, we are committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, spiritually, socially, and personally—while preparing students to thrive today and shape a brighter future.
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission:
Inspire, create, believe in the love of God
Vision:
Catholic education for life, modelled in faith
Value Statements:
Children
Our Catholic schools develop students who reflect the image of God and are positive contributors to a global society.
Putting People First
Our Catholic schools believe in the potential and dignity of all human beings.
Education
Our Catholic schools serve our communities through academic, social, and spiritual education, sharing responsibility for the stewardship of the children in our care.
Faith Permeation
Our Catholic schools provide and support the development, modelling, and permeation of our faith where we love one another as God loves us.
We explore the 10 principles of Catholic Social Teaching, which guide and enrich how we deliver the Alberta Education Program of Studies, helping students connect their learning with faith, justice, compassion, and service.
